Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how 繁簡相通 (HanST, "the App," "we," "our") handles information when you use the application. 繁簡相通 is a Simplified–Traditional Chinese reference tool offering four conversion modes (Taiwan standard), single-character lookup (zhuyin/pinyin/radical/strokes), photo OCR lookup, a cross-strait phrase dictionary, and Mainland regional vocabulary.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy applies to all users of the 繁簡相通 iOS application.

2. Data Collection

繁簡相通 does not collect, share, or track any personal data. We operate no servers at all.

Specifically:

• No personal information — We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
• No usage analytics — No analytics, diagnostics, crash reports, or usage statistics are collected.
• No advertising — The App contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs.
• No data sold or shared — We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties.
• No tracking — The App does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
• Fully offline — Every feature (conversion, character lookup, dictionary, OCR) runs locally on your device; no network connection is required.

3. Your Query Data

Your query history and favorites are stored only on your device (in the app's Application Support directory) and are never uploaded or synced to any server. Preferences such as font size, dark mode and default conversion mode are stored in on-device UserDefaults and never leave the device.

4. Camera and Photo Library

The App requests camera permission only when you use the photo-lookup feature:

• Photos and camera frames are used solely for on-device text recognition (Apple Vision framework). Everything is processed on your device and never uploaded.
• Picking an image from your photo library uses the system PhotosUI picker: the App can only read the single image you explicitly select, and does not request photo-library permission.
• Declining camera permission only disables the camera entry; the photo picker and all other features remain available.

5. Purchases

The optional Pro lifetime upgrade is processed entirely by Apple App Store (StoreKit). We do not receive or store your payment information; purchase status is verified on-device.

6. Third-Party Services

The App includes no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or AI SDKs. It uses only Apple platform frameworks (StoreKit, Vision, AVFoundation, PhotosUI, CoreText).

7. Data Deletion

You can clear history and favorites at any time in the App. Deleting the App removes all local data. Since we operate no servers, there is no cloud data to delete.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at the URL above.
